Beverley Knight at Cornbury Festival

Beverley Knight [20:00] is a survivor - still standing still growing while many who emerged at the same time as her in the mid nineties - some surrounded by far more hype – have come and gone. Beverley Knight’s awesome voice has featured on a catalogue of hits spanning the 12 years since her club classic debut, Flavour of the Old School, burst onto the burgeoning UK urban scene of 1995. In fact the 12 Top 40 hits contained on last year’s ‘Voice – The Best of Beverley Knight’ neatly chart the development of her talents as a vocalist and songwriter over a decade that saw many styles, come and go. “Voice” entered the charts in the Top 10 in March 2006, has been certified gold (her fourth gold album for Parlophone) and sold more than a quarter of a million copies

The Bangles at Cornbury Music Festival

The Bangles [18:00] are viewed by many as one of the greatest all-female bands ever, inventively incorporating '60s folk rock, sunny SoCal harmonies and Beatles/Byrds/Beach Boys/Big Star godhead into a sound all its own - beguiling, frequently bittersweet, but always life-affirming; a canny merger of art and commerce. Theirs was a rags-to-riches story, from the band's beginnings in L.A.'s Paisley Underground scene through their reign as the smart-pop princesses of the 1980s - a problematic decade that was far richer for the Bangles' presence in its unfolding.

Eric Bibb at the Cornbury Music Festival

Eric Bibb [16:00] "A performance by Eric Bibb is an enriching experience – both musically and spiritually. Purveying a beautifully realised and deftly accomplished, soulful and gospel infused, folk- blues, Eric has no problem melding a traditional rootsy American style with a subtle contemporary sensibility. As one critic wrote “ Eric’s singing and versatile guitar playing fuses a variety of genres to become a New World Blues”.Taj Mahal

Imelda May at the Cornbury Music Festival Imelda May [14:00] starts the day's Celtic sounds with this Dublin born singer songwriter making her solo debut this year. Michael Parkinson has billed her as ‘one of the best singers I’ve heard in a long time.' a perfect beginning to the festival main stage.

Toots & The Maytals at the Cornbury Festival Toots & The Maytals [21:00] recently won the 2005 Grammy award for best reggae album True Love, an album consisting of re-recorded versions of their classics alongside popular and legendary musicians such as Bonnie Raitt, Willie Nelson, Eric Clapton, and Keith Richards, as well as popular artists today such as No Doubt, Ben Harper, The Roots, and Shaggy.
Nick Lowe Nick Lowe [19:00] For Nick Lowe, it’s always been about quality over quantity. In 2001 he released The Convincer, seen by many as one of the highlights of a long and illustrious recording career. After that, though, all went quiet on the studio front. That changed this year. Once he got back with his steady team of band mates Bobby Irwin (drums), Geraint Watkins (keyboards) and Steve Donnelly (guitar), there was no stopping them.
Half Man Half Biscuit at the Cornbury Music Festival

Half Man Half Biscuit [17:00] "A band as savage as they were whimsical, Half Man Half Biscuit provided an unexpected dessert for those British post-punk teenagers who lamented the demise of bands with bite. Nigel Blackwell's inimitable songwriting on the minutiae of life, football and TV celebs quickly garnered cult status, particularly live, where fans could eagerly chant back his wise words." (Patrick Thorne)

Absentee Absentee [15:00] London's Absentee are Dan Michaelson (vocals/guitar), Melinda Bronstein (vocals, keyboards, melodica, glochenspiel), Babak Ganjei (guitar/lap steel), Laurie Earle (bass) and Jon Chandler (drums). This current line-up was cemented a week before their first UK tour in November 2004 and ever since the group have been honing their original idea's into full blown facts.
The Beat The Beat [13:00]
The Love Trousers The Love Trousers [11:00] first stepped gingerly onto the rock and roll stage in the late '80s claiming their robust reworkings of 60s garage rock and punk were “better than the originals” (mercifully most of the audience were too young to know they hadn¹t). They go well with a cow pie and a pint of woolly ale.

Performance Timings: Saturday | Sunday
The gates to the arena open at 10:00 am each day. The Word Stage and the Riverside Stage will begin around midday with the Main Stage starting at 12:00 each day. The music will end at around 11pm on both days. The headline performer is due to take to the Main Stage at approximately 21:30 with Beverley Knight immediately before.

The headline acts (i.e. last on) are always shown at the top of each stage line up section above with the running order working in reverse order down the page.

With the main stage artists performing for between 60 and 90 minutes each and a short interval for stage changes between artists this should help you gauge the approximate timings for the day.

Timings for the artists on the other stages will vary. However, in general Main and Second Stage artists alternate, with at most 15 minute overlap at the start or end of sets, but with the Riverside Stage running as well this year some tough choices will have to be made!

This information is provided here as a guide only and changes may be made to running order and timing without notice on the day.
