MILLETS, IN ASSOCIATION WITH THE DUKE OF EDINBURGH'S AWARD, IS PROUD TO SUPPORT
THE CORNBURY OXFORD FESTIVAL
- Award Participants and supporters to be part of The Cornbury
Oxford Festival 8th & 9th July, for the Awards 50th Anniversary celebrations
-
Today, Wednesday 17th May, Millets, in association with The
Duke of Edinburghs Award, announces an exciting partnership with The
Cornbury Oxford Festival, in what promises to be one of the most exciting summer
events of the season.
Now in its third successful year, The Cornbury Oxford Festival is fast becoming
known as one of the UKs best festival experiences and a must on the summer
circuit. With a diverse and eclectic line up of acts from Texas, Robert
Plant, The Pretenders, Deacon Blue, Kate
Rusby, The Waterboys to new stars such as Rocco de Luca, Goldrush, Nerina Pallot,
Get Cape, Wear Cape, Fly and Fell City Girl, The Cornbury Oxford Festival is
a must for all music lovers.
Due to this exciting opportunity, Millets and the Award have taken the opportunity
to align their plans for a festival with the Cornbury event to give everyone
an even greater festival experience. Unfortunately, they have now had to cancel
their plans for the Live Life Loud Festival that was scheduled to take place
on 22nd & 23rd July at Windsor Great Park and the artists that were due
to appear The Sugababes and Craig David are unable to make the
Cornbury dates due to prior commitments.
This family orientated festival is centrally located in Oxfordshire making
it more accessible for the nationwide network of Award Participants and supporters,
whilst the beautifully picturesque Cornbury estate will make for a fantastic
backdrop to what promises to be a memorable 50th Anniversary celebratory weekend.
The Duke of Edinburghs Award 50th Anniversary celebrations are supported
by Bank of Scotland Corporate.
With a dedicated and safe camping area open to all
festival goers, staying on the site means no travel to and from the festival,
enabling a stress free festival experience. For those hit by World Cup Final
fever the match will be available on screens within the site.
Legendary polar explorer and world record-holding balloonist, David Hempleman-Adams,
The Duke of Edinburghs Award 50th Anniversary Executive Chairman said:
This exciting partnership with such a fresh but established festival
is tremendous news for the Award. We are able to offer our participants a truly
memorable festival experience in a safe and exciting environment. With world
class acts from all musical genres our link up with Millets and The Cornbury
Oxford Festival will enable the Award to celebrate its 50th Anniversary in style.
Cornbury Festival promoter, Hugh Phillimore, adds, Millets and the
Award are perfect partners for us and were really thrilled to have them
on board.
